The United States Hot Dog Tour

For all you meat-eaters out there, is there anything better than classic barbeque foods like hamburgers and hot dogs?  Well- the answer is yes.  We’ve set out to find the most unique hot dogs across the United States.  They’re just like your favorite summertime barbeque staple… but better.

Hot Doug’s, Chicago, IL.

The specialty sausages at this hot dog sanctuary are named after celebrities.  They dub themselves the “Sausage Superstore and Encased Meat Emporium.”  Their duck-fat fries are sure to please, too.

Crif Dogs, New York, NY.

Crif Dogs is proclaimed to be NYC’s #1 Weiner!  They offer a ton of hot dog topping combinations including “The Chihuahua” which is a bacon-wrapped hot dog with avocados and sour cream.  They even have a veggie dog for vegetarian visitors which is smothered in onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and jalapenos.  Yum!

Frank, Austin, TX

Lookin’ for a hot dog menu with a wide variety of options?  Frank has got you covered with a handful of artisan sausages and daily dogs.  They also offer several different bun options and have a vegetarian and gluten free menu.  They call themselves the “Purveyors of Artisan Sausage.”

Pink’s, Los Angeles, CA

This legendary hot dog spot has been in business since 1939.  They certainly know what to do to keep people coming back for more.  In 2013 Pink’s was named the #1 Hot Dog Stand by Fox News.  They are known for their fun and historic atmosphere, delicious variety of hot dogs and huge portions.  Pink’s has grown over the years and now have locations across the country from California to Connecticut.

Biker Jim’s, Denver, CO

Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs are split down the middle and charred on a gas grill.  Sounds pretty generic, right?  Wrong- this ‘hot dog hero’ turns out reindeer and wild boar brats, rattlesnake and pheasant, elk and antelope.  Biker Jim’s loads up their hot dogs with unique Coca-Cola infused onions and cream cheese.  Make sure to stop on by if you’re in the area.

Hot Diggity Dog!  Where is your favorite hot dog spot?
