From Philly with Love (For HVAC/R)

Two weeks ago, the City of Brotherly Love welcomed those with a serious thing for HVAC/R. Comfortech 2013 featured the latest and greatest from the industry leaders, and of course, a bright green booth, with some hot new tools. So, if you didn’t have an opportunity to check it out, here’s a quick recap from your friends at hilmor.

Comfortech always comes with plenty of learning opportunities for the HVAC/R industry, from seminars to product showcases, and we made sure to take advantage. We didn’t miss former Philadelphia Phillies star and current ESPN analyst John Kruk. He hit a home run with his presentation on teamwork and the importance of trade schools.

Another favorite seminar talked about 30 Mobile Apps That Will Make Your Life Easier,” by Matt Michel. It touched on a few apps we covered in our blog post “4 Must-Have Apps For HVAC.” It also introduced a few new ones that we’ve included in an updated blog post here.

Of course, we spent plenty of time at the hilmor booth, on the Product Showcase floor. We saw a number of visitors come through the booth, and we can’t tell you how much we enjoyed watching them demo the tools first-hand and see the difference.

Remember our Retooled Donuts? You might if you made it to AHR 2013 in Dallas. We gave HVAC/R pros a taste of our thinking once again with a half glazed, half non-glazed donut to eliminate sticky fingers. At hilmor, it’s not just about the tools, guys.

Our favorite part of every trade show is the new people we meet. Techs and bright-eyed trade school students stopped by the booth to see what those “guys in green” had to offer. Techs were really digging the product demos, and students liked the idea of a $10,000 scholarship through our Retool Your Future scholarship contest. So, if you know any HVAC/R students, make sure they hear about this awesome opportunity.

Philly was certainly good to us this year, especially the food. You could say we put back a few Philly Cheesesteaks while we were there.

Any thoughts about the show? Let us hear what you have to say.
