Get to know your RETOOL TEAM – Amy Hull

Where do you live?

I moved from Minneapolis, Minn., to Dallas, Texas, about three and a half years ago. It’s great to get out of the snow. I love Texas.

Which states will you cover?

I will cover Ark., La., N.M., Okla. and Texas.

What made you want to be on the RETOOL Team?

It’s exciting to be a part of hilmor’s launch. Newell Rubbermaid is an amazing company and I am lucky to be on the team. Being new to the South, the RETOOL Team has given me a chance to explore the southern states. Every region is unique in culture, food and personalities. It’s been fun to visit many cities, and the response to hilmor has been incredibly positive.

Why should HVAC/R techs retool with hilmor?

hilmor has brought innovation and excitement to the table with tools that help make a contractor’s job easier and ultimately save them money. Besides, our tools just look cool.

What Texas stereotype is the most true?

Everything’s bigger in Texas!

What’s your favorite part about being a woman in a predominantly male industry such as HVAC/R?

The distributors and contractors (not to mention our sales reps) are so awesome. I try to help them see me as “just one of the guys,” but they go out of their way to help me set up for counter days and answer all my industry questions. They even help guide me into the parking lot with my monster truck. I talk with groups of contractors every day and they are genuinely interested in hearing about our products and teaching me about their profession. It’s a great industry with hardworking, “real” people.

What type of outdoor activities do you like to participate in?

Lately, my outdoor activities have consisted of hilmor parking lot days, either training counter sales reps or working customer counter days at our distributors. Now that it’s warming up, I look forward to spending weekends in our back yard. After being away, it’s great to be at home. Plus, it’s crawfish season here in Texas and Louisiana, so we try to attend as many crawfish boils as we can. Pretty soon, all the weekend concerts and festivals around Dallas will be starting up and we are looking forward to getting out and attending those as well.
